They offer one-of-a-kind Colorado finds with exclusive designs, including custom, hand-painted elevation signs and boutique items.

The Downtown Castle Rock Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Sara Brown and Julia Baxter, the Owners of Sassy Chic Mamas Boutique. Below are a few of our favorite questions we got to discuss with Sara and Julia.
Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?
We absolutely love the fun small-town feel. The best is when tourists and visitors come from out of town to shop and are introduced to the Barn for the first time. We love to see them in awe with the originality of the Barn and, of course, love to see them enjoy our handmade designs.
Tell us the story/background of your business. How did you end up running a business in your industry?
My business partner, Julia is a great friend that I met through a hiking group. We would go on long hikes and talk and dream about all of the different, original products that we could make for people to reflect a Colorado Lifestyle. We also connected over our love for Colorado. One day, she approached me and said, “Let’s do this! We can make products and sell them”. That is how our boutique started!
What is your favorite thing about owning a small business?
We love the flexibility and the creativity that comes with what we do. We absolutely love meeting people, and we love custom designing signs and furniture for people. When we see people happy to have our style in their homes, that makes us happy and makes it all worth it.
What is something unique that people may not know about you or your business?
Most of our designs are hand-designed and hand painted. They are one-of-a-kind. Many times, we use reclaimed materials when we can to create our different designs, such as barn wood, and aged items.
