The Downtown Castle Rock Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Andrew Wasson, the owner of the Wild Blue Yonder. Here are some of our favorite questions that we got to discuss with Andrew.

Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?

  • Downtown Castle Rock is one of the biggest unsung treasures of Colorado. It has a small-town appeal that makes you feel worlds away from the big city craziness. We love the tree-lined streets, front range views, and comfortable walkability of Downtown. The small, local businesses are also a huge favorite. The small businesses exemplify the Castle Rock community and really support and encourage each other’s successes.

Favorite thing about owning a small business?

  • Our favorite thing about owning a small business is becoming embedded in our local community. Small businesses are about family - in your home and in your community. We have welcomed our customers and our employees into our hearts.

Favorite place to visit in Downtown Castle Rock?

  • Our favorite place to visit in Downtown Castle Rock is Festival Park. Our kids love running through grass field, hiking over the creek, and sitting by the fire pits. The different seasonal events held in Festival Park are also a favorite!

What’s something unique that people may not know about you or your business?

  • We are owned and operated by three Air Force veterans. The name Wild Blue Yonder is not only a reference to the Air Force fight song but the phrase’s message of adventure and conquering the unknown.

What’s the easiest way customers can support your small business right now?

  • The easiest way customers can help small business right now is keep shopping! As we get into fall and winter, small businesses need help on weekdays and off hours. For local restaurants, do takeout orders. Wild Blue Yonder is doing takeout and delivery orders for food and beer seven days a week - restrictions do apply so check out our menu online at www.wildblueyonderbrewing.com. While you are checking out the menu, don’t forget gift cards are also a great idea! Our gift cards are available in any amount and are also available to purchase directly online at www.wildblueyonderbrewing.com.
